The whole house fits in the frame and the roof is visible end to end. Taken from the corner, so two roof planes show at once.

Close up and from below, all that is left of the roof is the eaves. The tool cannot paint a roof that is not in the picture.
- Step far enough back Back up until the whole house fits in the frame, ridge included. A few steps backwards improve the result more than anything else.
- Shoot from the corner Stand towards a corner of the house rather than square in front of a wall. Two roof planes then show, and the shape of the roof comes across.
- Let the roof fill the frame The roof needs to be large in the picture. If it is a thin strip along the top, there is too little to change and the difference will not show.
- Shoot in daylight An overcast day is best. Keep the sun behind you: shooting into it leaves the roof dark and the shade does not read.
Avoid these
- Snow or a wet layer of leaves on the roof, the covering does not show through it.
- Trees, cars or hedges in front of the roof.
- Dusk, rain, and hard shadows falling across the roof.
- A picture with several houses in it: the tool paints all of their roofs.
